Ontario and Manitoba Free Counseling for Gambling Problems Study

This study compares two types of counseling-- Seeking Safety, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Problem Gambling. We are recruiting 50 people. The two types of counseling are delivered online, which makes it easy to attend. The counseling is conducted by experienced, licensed counselors. Both types of counseling are highly supportive and already have positive results in other studies.

Eligibility Criteria

All genders

At least 18 years old

Lived through difficult life event

Gambles currently

Study Tasks

Fill out questionnaires online (can be done at any time)
Complete a brief phone interview

Ethics

This study has clearance from the University of Windsor Research Ethics Board (primary); the University of Manitoba Research Ethics Board (secondary); and the New England Institutional Review Board (secondary)
