Researchers
I am a PhD student at the University of Toronto. As part of my PhD research, I am hoping to learn about how women understand and respond to gendered public health messages that address women’s safety (e.g., local police initiatives that suggest strategies to enhance personal safety). Participation will involve a one-time focus group interview lasting approximately 90 minutes. Focus groups will occur online, via a virtual platform, and will be scheduled at your convenience. I will show some examples of Canadian gendered public health messages, and pose open-ended questions about your responses and reactions to the examples presented.
Findings of this research are hoped to benefit women in the future by generating recommendations grounded in the experiences of women interviewed, aimed at ensuring that women feel safe in their communities.
