Blue is the most impactful wavelength of light for your sleep and circadian rhythm. In general, it is healthy to get a lot of blue light during times when you are awake, and no blue light when you are trying to sleep. And this is shown to regulate your serotonin, melatonin and cortisol levels. At Lumos, our team of doctors from Stanford Sleep Sciences and designers from Apple developed a pair of smart glasses that can increase or decrease the amount of blue light in your visual environment. The glasses are fitted with light sensors and a a chip that connect via bluetooth to your smartphone to give you a personalized blue light experience. At the beginning of the study, you will receive a pair of Lumos Glasses in the mail with your custom prescription. The study last 8 weeks, where you'll fill in daily multiple choice questions via the smartphone app regarding your sleep quality and mood and have bi-weekly check ins with a member from our team. You'll get to keep these glasses by the end of the study.
