The effect of dairy and dairy alternatives on appetite and blood glucose control in healthy young adults

Prospective participants may be invited for an in person screening and information session that will include measurement of height and weight and completing questionnaires. Study visits will require you to consume dairy and plant-based dairy alternatives which will then be followed by a meal.

Your participation will help us gain insight into the impact of traditional dairy and plant-based dairy alternatives as it relates to appetite and blood glucose control in healthy individuals.

Eligibility Criteria


20 to 30 years old

in good health

non smoker

non breakfast skipper

no dietary restrictions/allergies to dairy/gluten/coconut

no aversion to blood/blood collection

Study Tasks

fill out questionnaires
eat provided foods
measure blood glucose
blood collection for insulin analysis


This research study has been reviewed and approved by the University of Toronto Research Ethics Board (Protocol # 31323).
