EEG Study looking for younger adult males 18-30!

Participate in a study! Are you 18-30 years of age? Learned English before five years old? You may be eligible for our research study! This study will involve completing computer tasks while your brain’s activity is monitored using EEG. This study takes approximately 2.5-3 hours to complete at Baycrest Health Sciences. EEG is a non-invasive measure of brain activity using recording electrodes. There are no risks associated with completing this study. Participants will be compensated at a rate of $15 per hour and the round-trip TTC fare/parking costs will also be covered.
Eligibility Criteria
Male
18 to 30 years old
Not currently medicated for depression / anxiety
No history of major traumatic head injury / prolonged loss of consciousness
learned English before 5 years of age
Study Tasks
Participants will be performing a variety of simple computer tasks that involve vision, hearing, and touch while brain activity is recorded using EEG - as well as paper-and-pencil activities of thinking abilities (memory, language, visuospatial skills)
Participant will also undergo a hearing test and vision test
Ethics
This study has been approved by Baycrest Hospital's Research Ethics Board (16-47)
