Couple Communication: How does the Way you Communicate with your Partner Affect your Relationship?

University of Toronto, Department of Psychology

Our study tracks how couples communicate with each other over time in order to discover how couples can better solve conflicts in their relationship. This study involves a two-step screening process (i.e., a very short survey and screening phone call) for which you will be entered into a draw to win a $100 CAD gift card, an initial survey for which you will receive $15 CAD, 8 consecutive brief weekly surveys for which you will receive up to $40 CAD and a short follow-up survey 6 months later, for which you will receive $15 CAD. Given the longer-term commitment we require in this study, we want to emphasize that couples will be compensated appropriately for their valuable time and efforts (up to $70 CAD per person or $140 per couple).
