"Changing the Conversation" Research Study - CONTACT PEARL PARTICIPATE!

University of Toronto, Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE)

We are seeking emerging adults (18-25 years old) and parents for a parent-child study on healthy communication. The study involves an emerging adult and their parent attending two online sessions to complete surveys and engage in conversation tasks. In between those two sessions, the parent will receive a free communication strategies workshop. The parent and the emerging adult will each receive $80. CONTACT PEARL TO PARTICIPATE

Your Impact

Your participation in this study will help us gain a better understanding of the communication challenges between parents and their young adult children, with the goal of developing a training program to better help parents engage, support, and improve parent-young adult relationships.  

Eligibility Criteria

All genders

18 to 70 years old


Fluent in verbal and written English

Emerging Adult (ages 18-25)

3 hours total, 2 sessions

An emerging adult (18-25 years old) and parent pair will attend two online sessions that will take approximately 2 hours each that involve a conversation task and filling out a survey. In between those sessions, the parent will receive a free online workshop on communication strategies.
