**MUSIC STUDY** How does the piano sound?

University of Toronto Scarborough, Music Cognition Lab, Department of Psychology


In this study, you will hear pairs of piano sounds (notes, chords) and be asked to identify whether the piano sounds in or out of tune. Headphones/Earbuds are required. There is also a short questionnaire to complete regarding music experience.

Your Impact

This study is part of a project determining the fundamental reasons humans enjoy music. Your participation will provide information on what aspects of sound our brain uses to process music.

Eligibility Criteria

All genders

At least 13 years old

Minimum 1 year of music experience

No auditory impairments

Some knowledge of piano chords
