Assessing LGBTQIA+ Physician Experiences in the Healthcare Environment

University of Calgary, Cumming School of Medicine

Social inequities persist for LGBTQIA+ persons throughout the world. Physicians are unlikely to be an exception to this and anecdotal evidence supports this assumption. Unfortunately, there is little to no literature that explores LGBTQIA+ physician and medical trainee experiences in the healthcare environment, as well as how the intersectionality of gender and race factor in. As such, the impacts of these experiences on LGBTQIA+ physician's general wellbeing, career, and ability to care for patients is also unknown. This 10 to 15 minute online survey is the first step in many that will work to detail the lived experience of LGTBQIA+ medical doctors. Thank you very much for you time and participation in exploring this topic.
